Every year, workplace fires cause many serious injuries and deaths, as well as causing widespread damage to workplaces. In some cases, the fire damage is so extensive that companies are unable to resume business.

Under health, safety & fire regulations employers are required to:

  • Carry out a risk assessment of fire hazards in the workplace
  • Ensure suitable fire detection and warning systems are in place
  • Ensure there is a safe means of escape from the building
  • Provide reasonable fire fighting equipment
  • Provide appropriate information and training to staff and visitors
  • Check and maintain fire safety equipment
